Diana Charles
Watercolorist

A veteran artist of 25 years, Diana Charles' early study was at the Art Student's League and later under the noted illustrator Burne Hogarth. She has had appearances in gallery shows from California to New York. Completed commissions have been done in a wide swath across the country in the sporting art field as well as horse racing. Her sporting prints have been published by Philip Morris and other print publishers. Ms. Charles' layered watercolor paintings have appeared in Field & Stream magazine and the History of the Labrador by Richard Wolf. Diana's latest series of blues musicians' portraits called Painted Blues reflects her long-standing love of this uniquely American genre of music.

Diana has long been a ginseng grower and native ecology advocate. She and her husband/photographer E.J. Schlup cultivate ginseng in the beautiful woods of their Central New York property. On another piece of property they own on the shores of Seneca Lake grows an endangered species of wildflower which Cornell botanists have told them is one of only two known sites where the plant grows in North America.

In collaboration with Sylvan Botanicals “Catskill Mountains Ginseng Farms”, Diana has just released limited edition giclée prints of this wonderful ginseng portrait. Signed and numbered by the artist, and accompanied by the proper certificates of authenticity, these museum-quality prints on fine Arches watercolor paper are now available. The edition size is 175; when 175 numbered and signed prints have been sold, the edition will be closed.

Jessie Blake Salmon
Natural Science Illustration & Botanical Art

It is our pleasure to introduce you to the fine botanical artwork of Jessie Blake Salmon. She has recently made her beautiful illustrations available to the public. Her image of "American Ginseng" captures the true color of the plant in early fall and is the most realistic we have seen to date. Signed and dated prints are available at her website and are sure to increase in value.

Our deepest thanks go out to Jessie for allowing us to use the "American Ginseng" image on our company truck and business cards. She will be visiting Sylvan Botanicals throughout the spring and summer to sketch some of our other native woodland plants. We look forward to her visits and anxiously await the release of her next work of art.
